Mrs. Rutherford-Ferguson is an Attorney-at-Law by profession and is Corporate Secretary and head of the Legal Department at a retail bank in The Bahamas. Having started her studies in law at the College of The Bahamas, now University of The Bahamas, she obtained an Associate of Arts Degree in Law and Criminal Justice. Khrystle then received her LLB, with Honors, from The University of Buckingham, England and completed the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law, London, England. She was admitted to both The Bahamas Bar and the Bar of England and Wales.
Mrs. Khrystle Rutherford-Ferguson is the Chairman of the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers’ Confederation (BCCEC), the premier voice of the business community in The Bahamas. As a result of this role, she sits on numerous statutory Government Boards and Committees including the Bahamas National Statistical Institute. She is also a member of the Clearing Banks Association’s Legal and Compliance Sub-Committee.
Past board appointments include: member of the Supervisory Committee (Audit Committee) of Teachers and Salaried Workers Co-operative Credit Union, Treasurer of the Bahamas Bar Council, Director of the Bahamas Financial Services Board, member of the National Coordinating Committee on Covid-19, member of the Economic Recovery Committee, member of the National Advisory Council for the introduction of Local Government to New Providence.
